HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I had not considered this, but it’s not something I have to worry about as I do not have the 60 volumes of GDW and have collected the compilation books only. Why? A combination of a lack of enthusiasm for so many books, and the fact that I have zero space for them (or anything else) at the moment! I’m a very systematic collector and prioritize quite well; GDW and GDW:O are very low down on my list, but they will not doubt work their way into my collection sooner or later.

1. To only post complete pieces.
I don’t like half-measures, and would rather post something refined and complete with the most research done on it as possible from the items themselves. This is why my blog activity is inconsistent - some things take longer to get and longer to put together as a complete piece of referable information for collectors!

2. To post factual information from the items themselves and as little opinion as possible.
It is only when I have complete pieces (ie, rule one), do I really sit down and start researching and compiling information from the physical books/merchandise themselves as a whole. All the written information I post goes through at least two stages - I’ll blast through and research as much information as possible one day (mostly looking up the Japanese book titles as printed), then a couple of days later will go back and check for mistakes and make sure I have everything. It is at this point I also make sure everything is written in a way that is easy to understand and easy to look at if you want to find a specific piece of information quickly.
If I have to speculate the reason behind something if there isn’t any information available, I certainly will, but I try to avoid any personal opinion and “guessing games” that do not constitute as fact.

3. To only post about items I physically have.
If I don’t have something, I cannot post about it, simple as that! I will have some basic knowledge and be able to find out more about items I don’t have, but it isn’t the same as having the item in front of you and being able to physically look at things like the publishing date, full Japanese title, if there is anything interesting written on them that other people might not have spotted, etc. Having the items means I can take scans and photos for a unique and clear image gallery too! (:

Great question! This is an awkward edition to try and get a hold of - I’ve only been successful in getting 3 out of the 6 books so far. Essentially this is a reprint of the 2004 Jump Remix (4th) Edition, but only the anime part of the story (and is therefore technically a compilation edition, not a full edition as the wolf arc is excluded). So there’s 6 out of the 8 volumes from 2004.

It was purely for the promotion of the Uncut DVD box set, which is why there are so few of these copies around as they were sold in-store only around the time of the DVD release in 2008.

Also, thank you! Having this blog is a lot of fun, though it sometimes takes me a while to compile everything. I make it a rule that I don’t post anything here unless I have the complete set, so when I research them I know I have 100% of what I can find out directly from the items themselves, which is better for my followers too (;  

There was no official English translation of the Ginga Series, apart from the first 3 books of Ginga Densetsu Weed. You can download some fan translations of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and some more of Yoshihiro Takahashi’s mangas at Ginga Board (linked at the top of the page).

The mangas official languages are Japanese and more recently, Finnish ^^ hope that helps!
